ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE perfumes are made in collaboration with several perfumers (Antoine Maisondieu, Christine Nagel, Quentin Bisch, Antoine Lie, Mathilde Bijaoui, Shyamala Maisondieu, Violaine Collas, Nathalie Feisthauer, Cecile Matton, Ralf Schwieger, and Caroline Sabas).
ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE is considered a different perfumery, with a liberated and free perspective to love and be loved.
ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE is considered a whimsical perfumery that uses irony to perfect the names of its fragrances. An energetic perfumery that shakes prejudices and arouses ambiguities. When Etienne de Swardt created his perfumery house in 2006, he named it ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE to honor his birthplace and what it represents.
In South Africa, Etat Libre d'Orange (the Free State of Orange) was a land of astonishing beauty, color, and unforgettable scents, a nation of contrasts, strong feelings, and mixed emotions. The multicolored mosaic of people and cultures gave it an unpredictable, sometimes wild nature. Unity, beauty, and freedom are the hallmarks of ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE, which always seeks freedom.
THE BOTTLE AND THE SYMBOL
The bottles of ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE are simple, sturdy, serious, and attractive bottles that contain true creativity.
